Habitat for Humanity provides homes for those who normally might not be able to afford homes by enlisting volunteers to work on building the homes. NCAC invites ten members of the Fulbright community to participate in a Habitat building day in the Baltimore area on May 14 to build a home for someone in need. The workday will begin at 8:15 in the morning and ends at 3:00 in the afternoon.
Please note that volunteers need to wear work clothes and closed toed shoes, bring their own lunches and bottled water, and be ready to do physical labor for seven hours. The site will be determined the week of the event. Some carpooling may be available for individuals who live outside the Baltimore area. More information is available at http://www.habitat.org/how/faq.The deadline for signing up for volunteering is May 1. If you sign up to volunteer Habitat will assume you are making a definite commitment to be there!
